Passport for Zoo Bratislava

(2023)

This little book is a Zoo passport. It was created for the entertainment and education of big and small animal enthusiasts. Thanks to it, you can explore the whole zoo in Bratislava, collect stamps for visited places, and learn new facts.

If someone approaches me to design some gift items because they liked my previous work, I will be pleased. This is how the zoo, which is intensively working on its renewal, also approached me. It didn't take long, and today, they already have their Passport, which will guide you through this unique garden.

One day they invited me to see the zoo with my own eyes, feel the atmosphere, and maybe come up with ideas for their gift shop.

After a fantastic walk with the marketing and educational team, I arrived shortly after with a large number of ideas. How else with such a great topic : )

Team

A lot of great people were involved in creation of this project:

  • Zoo Bratislava team: Zuzana Ocenasova, Veronika Ticha, Diana Duhova, Education Team & others

  • Graphic design: Zuzana Liptakova

  • Printing service: Tlaciaren Bardejov

  • Rewards: Kresky

Gamification

With the passport, you can visit 23 stops around the garden and collect a stamp representing a foot track of an animal it belongs to at each stop. Collect them all and get a reward!

Education

We knew that the Zoo Passport should be not only entertaining but also educational, so at the bottom of each page, you will find an informative text and the degree of danger of the given animal in the world, reminding one of the essential reasons for the creation of the zoo - the preservation of endangered animal species.

Bonus - It’s a coloring book!

The pictures in the passport are created by artificial intelligence, and it is no coincidence that they are black and white. You can color your passport!

Inspiration

I had the opportunity to attend EXPO 2020 Dubai, and there they had a gift item - a passport - where you could collect stamps for the exhibition pavilions - countries - that you visited. Setting up something similar in the Zoo seemed like a fantastic gamification for playful visitors.

Two languages

Of course, since the Bratislava Zoo is visited not only by local residents but also by tourists from abroad, the passport is in Slovak and English language.

Where to get one

Zoo Pass can be purchased at the entrance or in the Zoo shop.

By the way, if you collect all the stamps and bring your passport to the gift shop, you will receive a reward from Kresky.

Visit the place

And enjoy your stay, hopefully also thanks to all the collected stamps : )
