Hradby samoty 2020

Hradby Samoty is an experimental audio-visual festival held on August 21-22, 2020 in Castle Moravany nad Váhom, Slovakia.

2020, the year of pandemic. What will you do when your installation is canceled also with the event, and a few days before the original date there is the possibility to do a smaller version, but there is no more time to do anything big?

The Live Exhibition

The right answer is: A wearable exhibition moving randomly around the crowd.

I asked a few friends if they were going to this event and wanted to be a part of the “live exhibition“ and they loved the idea!

Btw those t-shirts were made with DTG technology and each piece is original and will not be reprinted. Every single t-shirt is having a unique picture from the VJ set made for Maraki, who was also Djing at the event and the VJ set should be a part of his gig. The only issue was, that somebody used a fog machine inside the room so intensely that the VJ set wasn’t possible to see at all.

I enjoy the idea of not making a print on a wall or objects with only one purpose - to be displayed.

Well… #pandemic : )

Projection

Few days before the event organizers didn’t have anything to project on the best wall at the event - the main building of the castle. So I put quickly together some old and new renders together with practical festival info and the weekend projection was ready to enjoy!

I’m still a bit sad that I didn’t see it in person. Making a projection of this size was my long-time dream. Because there was a small chance I was probably (I thankfully wasn’t) covid positive, I didn’t attend the event personally. So thanks to all who were sending me some photos the whole weekend to cheer me up!

No matter if I attend or not, this event is epic. Especially Katarina and Waldemar, the main organizers with who I enjoy a lot collaborating with. Thank you, I love your black hearts :*

PS

Oh and btw. Katarina sent me some photos from another event which they were helping with organizing and they used the VJ set on the stage. It was some metal event which I don’t know, but from photos, it looks lit :D
